Salsa and chips and rice were excellent. Cheese on the shrimp quesadilla was greasy rather than creamy.

I saw very disappointed with the food at lex mex especially considering the price. The service there was sub par throughout the meal a tried to ask the waitress for a refill on my water cup, when she finally got around to filling my cup we were asking for the check.

Saturday day visit, had a beef burrito to go. It was long wait, the burrito wasn't rolled up and beef average. I couldn't roll it up and make it stay so it fell apart. Boyfriend got chicken quesadillas he said he remembered it being better years ago.

The people here are very thoughtful to make special chips and meals for me because of my seafood allergy. I think the food was great and the atmosphere was authentic and cute. I’d recommend to others and defiantly come again.

Blackened Yellow Fin Tuna Burrito Medium Rare rare was red in color but (not blackened). I would not order again.

Awesome food (the yellow fin burrito is AMAZING) and really great service as always. One of the most memorable parts of our summer vacations!

Crispy taco shells were not as fresh (crispy) as we would have liked. Good taste though. Friendly staff.

Great eatery with pleasant outdoor seating and lots of nearby parking. The food absolutely exceeded expectations and the portion sizes were more than I expected. Our server was friendly and upbeat and really made us feel welcome!

Excellent Mexican food. They have maintained the taste and quality of the food even though they have doubled their location size. I was glad to see that the place was busy but the wait time for takeout was a bit long, suggestion that in season order early.

slow service and mediocre mexican food. bring your own tequila if you want margaritas.. they sell virgin ones!

First of all let me say that was the first time I have ever been to Lex Mex. The food was to die for. Jen our waitress was outrageous and her laugh was infectious. Greg does a superb job of serving excellent food at great prices. While working for the military I traveled from Maine to Florida to Puerto Rico to Mississippi and this is the best Mexican food that I've had in a long time. Just wish they would stay open year-round. Well next week Friday night I'll be there for dinner. Just don't plan on eating for a day or two before you go there I had the Yellowfin burrito and my buddy had the seafood burrito both were totally over-the-top. On a rating from 1 to 10 for lunch I would give them a 15. Rod

Love this place! Love love LOVE the cheesy chips! And it's BYOB. Always love coming to Lex Mex. Update: as of 2017 the once magnificent cheesy chip recipe has changed! The "new" cheesy chip construction is good, but not as glorious as the original.

Love the seafood and tuna burritos. Have been going to Lex Mex for years. Still our favorite fresh salsa . We will be back!

I was hyped to give this place a try, as it was mediocre at best in its old location but I thought maybe being in new digs would also mean better fare. I was wrong.For starters, they have a nice hot sauce display at the front counter, but the only hot sauce available to diners is Texas Pete. Nothing against Texas Pete, but to sell hot sauce that you can't even try is tacky.As to the meals, I ordered a chicken enchilada and got what looked more like a chicken burrito. The was no sauce and the meat was wrapped in a flour tortilla, not a corn tortilla. My wife ordered a vegetable burrito and the main vegatable inside was onion. The thing was mostly a giant tortilla and not much filling. And boy was it bland.So, I'm sticking with my old standby, Surf Taco. It's so much better!

Friendly service, solid food. BYOB as well, and the margarita mix they have is pretty good.

Our friend group went to this restaurant and the food was alright. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best. The waitress was nice and very on top of our needs. At the end of the night, we left a tip and as we were leaving, the hostess chased us and gave us a lecture on how we didn’t tip the waitress enough. She told us that the waitress was “only getting paid $2 an hour.” This was obviously a lie the hostess told us to manipulate us and make us give her more money. Either that or the restaurant is paying their waiters and waitresses less than minimum wage, which would be illegal. One of the girls in our group respectfully gave the hostess more money without any arguing. The hostess didn’t thank her. We have now learned that we should tip more in the future, but we have also learned that this restaurant is definitely not going to be a good one to remember.

Friendly and good service...food was not good! Ordered buffalo shrimp for an appetizer...portion was ridiculously small, shrimp was overcooked, "buffalo sauce" was just plain hot sauce drenched the shrimp, dish was overpriced!! Moving on...Beef burrito for dinner...seasoning was too pungent, seasoning was way off! And they need to learn how to make/ fold their burritos...a flapped over tortilla is not a burrito! But Rice and beans were good and portion was fair for the price. Salsa was good, chips need to be home made...the place needs a bit more authenticity! However, the place was busy...? I will not be returning.

In my, and my wife's opinions, the best spot on the island. We have been going here for the last 10 years at least. Is it traditional, not always. Is it awesome food from the chips and pick all the way down the menu to the pulled pork options? YES! My 4 year old even asks when are we going to Lex Mex! Oh, and don't forget to get your order with chipotle...

Nice restaurant right off the beach. Good food and friendly service. They are moving to a new location for next year.

I have not tried too many things on the menu, however I have had the guacamole there. It is by far the best I have had and definitely recommended!

Lex Mex is excellent! Every time I go I get the cheesy chips and I love them. By far my absolute favorite nachos. The salsa is made fresh daily and it's without equal. And Lex Mex is BYOB! Great eatery, great owners, attentive friendly wait staff and super yummy food. What the Hell are you reading this dopey review for?? Get your hungry self to Lex Mex now!

Great casual BYOB on LBI. Freshly prepared Mexican food, great flavors and a nice environment. My chorizo burrito with fresh guacamole blew me away! We will definitely be back -

Horrible food. We ordered fish tacos. It was not a taco but a half wrapped burrito that tasted like the bay. We also ordered the surf and turf burrito. The steak was raw and the scallops were not cooked either. It tasted like a mouthful of the ocean. The rice and beans that came with the meal were also not seasoned and flavorless. We asked the manager on duty what went wrong and she stated she has a new cook who does not know what they are doing. We will not be back here.

We love Tex MEX all homemade fresh fish meats and veggies. All cooked clean not smothered in cooking oils. Homemade chips and salsa is the BEST!
